Slawa Swiderski

Slawa Swiderski came to the United States from communist-controlled Poland as a young woman, and quickly made the most of our individual freedoms to become an accomplished artist and photographer. She and her late husband, George, built a world-renowned taxidermy business. They spent many days together in the field hunting on several continents.

Slawa has been a member of Safari Club International for decades, and she and George were the first two Lifetime Members of the Illinois & Chicago Chapter. She served on the Board of Directors of the Chapter for more than twenty years, and is currently a Director Emeritus. Slawa, George and their daughter Krystyna have supported our Chapter with valuable donations of unique artwork and one-of-a-kind artifacts they collected through their world-wide travels.

For thirty years they hosted our annual Member Appreciation event as they opened their beautiful home, studio and park-like grounds to all members of our chapter. And every month their home was the meeting place for our Board of Directors. Slawa has been an amazing friend to all of us as she has shared her passion for hunting and freedom, and she is truly the “First Lady” of our Chapter.
